I have always used scotchlocks to
wire up my towbars without any problem, so why use your kits?

The simple 'scotchlock' was designed some years ago to suit the old style analogue type vehicle. This type of connections is fast becoming redundant as vehicle technology moves forward. Our wiring kits are tailored to fit each
specific vehicle using the original connectors in the car. This gives a 100% perfect fit without the worry of possible contact failure. They also do not give rise to any
potential warranty complaints.
Surely using these specific kits will add more time to the installation?
In
the majority of cases, the installation time is greatly reduced, but for certain vehicles with more complex operating systems, It may well add more time.
What about the cost? I can spend much less on universal kits.
It MAY be likely that the cost of specific kits will be more costly,
but there are several factors which must be considered :-
-
The labour Time can be greatly reduced – thus making a
saving
-
Specific kits are recognized by the vehicle Manufacturers –
which can significantly reduce warranty issues, which can be costly to rectify
-
Research & development is included in the kits, so, takes away
the problem of which relays to install

What about multiplexing and Can bussed systems? |
All our kits have been designed and tested
in tandem with the latest technology. In some cases, with direct input from the vehicle manufacturers. Therefore, we are confident that the installation of our kits,
creates no problem with the vehicle towing capabilities. In fact, for certain vehicles, the enhanced towing features on the vehicle will function. Learn more on the 'CANbus Systems' page.
I like to have an audible sound when indicating, do your kits have this
feature?
In some cases, they do. We have
designed a number of towing kits which gives a choice of either an audible sound or a visual warning of trailer indicator failure. This only applies to wiring kits where the
existing flasher unit is replaced. The use of the standard
universal audible buzzer, that is obtained on many website trading outlets, is in
fact, seriously flawed as it does not conform to EU law with regard to trailer flasher telltales (see 'Buzzers and the Law' ).
