..to ensure the 13 pin plug is equipped with a double-entry grommet (see picture below), which seals effectively the plug from water ingress. Many other cheaper variants have 2 solid core cables which have been squeezed together into a single entry grommet. This weakness in design allows water to easily enter the plug through the large gaps in the seal. This inevitably causes corrosion and failure of the pin contacts inside the plug.
